Beautiful! Reminds me of experiencing “forest bathing” once-which was sooooo calming.

I’ve never formally done forest bathing, but I think it would have been similar to some of what I experienced. It definitely had some of the same benefits for me!

Lovely, Lori. I'm so glad you were able to get that much needed dose of nature. I find nature soothing, too. I'm fortunate to live in Hawaii with a fair amount of nature right outside my door. It's not exactly the same as going remote, but very wonderful.

Oh, I imagine it IS wonderful! I deeply appreciate that we have lots of critters around our house and that our yard ends in a very steep, tree-covered hillside. But being away reminded me of how much I need the silence and solitude as well. I hope you find the right balance for yourself, too!

I am grateful for two retreats this month, one in northern New Mexico and the other in Marin County, California, two places with quite different presences, each beautiful and majestic in its own way.

David, this sounds like such a beautiful observation to keep in mind. Thank you for sharing. I don’t know that it matters where we go, if we’re tuning into the place with mindfulness and curiosity. Happy travels!
